The Home Inventory Ledger is a digital tool designed to help homeowners, renters, and estate planners keep an organized, visual record of their personal property. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to protect, value, or pass down their belongings with clarity and confidence.

The Ledger is built in Excel and comes pre-formatted with easy-to-navigate tabs for each area of your home. You can document items, link photos and receipts, and track value or maintenance history.

Yes. Simply right click a cell > select Hyperlink > choose Existing File or Web Page and Select > then browse and attach your saved files. A link will populate in the cell for instant access.

We recommend keeping everything in a clearly named folder on your computer, such as “Home Inventory 2025.” For added protection, back it up to the cloud (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive) and/or an external USB or hard drive.

While it is possible, the Ledger works best on a laptop or desktop computer. Some mobile apps may limit full functionality, especially when linking files.

Photos: JPEG or PNG (max 5 MB each)

Documents: PDF, DOC, DOCX (max 2 MB each)

High-quality files ensure clarity when you need them for insurance or legal purposes.

A detailed inventory provides peace of mind for:

 ✅ Homeowners insurance claims
✅ Emergency preparedness
✅ Estate planning or legacy transfers
✅ Asset tracking for personal or business use

We recommend updating your Ledger at least twice a year or after:
• Major purchases
• Renovations
• Moving
• Life changes like marriage, inheritance, or estate planning
